Oia is in Langkawi

Heard earlier today that the previous owner has finished his transit from Phuket to Langkawi and the boat is now docked at Telaga Harbour.  So, the boat is now pretty much mine!  (Apparently the previous owner is spending the night on it before flying back to Phuket.)

I’ve been struggling a bit with getting some insurance finalized, but it looks like that’s shaping up to be resolved soon.  Next up will be registration; can’t say I’ve made any progress on getting the ball rolling with that just yet.  Following that, painting; and following that, finding a delivery captain and setting some dates to bring Oia here.

I’m all set to head up to Langkawi for a three-day weekend at the end of the week.  I’ll pick up the keys, and then get down to business going through everything, cleaning and organizing, making an inventory, and tinkering.

“picking up the keys” as a symbol for ownership seems so unfitting for a sailboat. You should take the storm-jib or the anchor and hang it in your apartment. Cause I’m sure either of those would be really convienient to take on a plane.

Well, I do have a two CQRs and a Danforth so I could certainly spare an anchor. I wonder what my budget airline would think of that.
